The College of Science hosts an important meeting regarding the preliminary stage

In the College of Science meeting hall, a meeting was held today, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 12 noon, which included:

 - Dr.  Ezz El-Din Abu Rawi (member of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the Parliament’s Education Committee).

 - Dr.  Hafeez Khalifa (Member of the House of Representatives and Member of the Parliament’s Education Committee).

 Dr..  Ali Mosaddeq (Dedicated President of the University)

 - Dr. Sami Hamdi (Delegate for Scientific Affairs at the University).

 - a.  Dr..  Ramadan Al-Jadi (Dean of the College of Science, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Preliminary Stage).

 - a.  Dr..  Amjad Shakhtoor (Dean of Medical Colleges).

 - a.  Dr..  Khaled Qadara (Dean of the College of Medicine).

 - Dr.  Fathi Al-Sharif (Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy)

 - Dr.  Ibrahim Al-Marhaq (Dean of the College of Information Technology).

 - Mr. Dr.  Haifa Dozan, (Dean of the College of Agriculture).  Dr..  Bassem Al-Tajouri, Acting Dean of the College of Medical Technology.

 - Dr.  Jamal Ander (General Coordinator of Applied Sciences)

 - a.  Dr..  Fawzi Owahida (General Coordinator of Medical Sciences).

 - M.  Mohamed Hamouda (coordinator of studies and examinations in the preliminary stage).

 - M.  Ali Announ (general registrar for the preliminary stage).  At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean of the College welcomed the members of Parliament, the President of the University, the Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Vice Dean of Medicine, and his fellow deans, assuring them that the College of Science is always at the service of everyone and will continue, thanks to the efforts of its members, professors and employees, to always provide the best for the educational process and the house of expertise for the community. In turn, the President of the University praised  Welcoming everyone, I thank the two members of Parliament for participating in this meeting.

 The meeting touched on several issues, the most important of which was the progress of the educational process in the faculties of the University of Tripoli in general and the preparatory stage in particular.

 After the discussion and dialogue about the preliminary stage, the Chairman and member of the Parliament’s Higher Education Committee praised the efforts that were made and changed for the success of the preliminary stage, as well as the success of its outcomes through the excellence of the students assigned to the colleges through it, and stressed their support and continuation.

 Mr. Abu Rawi stressed that the Parliament’s Education Committee is doing its part to develop effective solutions to the problems facing higher education, especially the rights of faculty members and the implementation of Law No. 4.

 Regarding the issue of placement of the outcomes of the preliminary stage (medical and applied), after presenting the success rates for medical and applied sciences from the specialists, as well as presenting the absorptive capacity of the colleges by the deans, each according to his college, and after discussion and dialogue in particular, the President of the University approved the agreement that the placement of students should be according to the following percentages:

 First - Medical Sciences:

 - Students who obtain 75% or above are allowed to choose any of the medical colleges.

 - Students who obtain 70% or above are allowed to choose any of the medical colleges, except for the College of Human Medicine.

 - Students who obtain 65% or above are allowed to choose any medical college, except for the College of Human Medicine and the College of Pharmacy.

 - Students who obtain 50% or above are allowed to choose any of the medical colleges, except for the College of Human Medicine, the College of Pharmacy, and the College of Medical Technology.

Second - Applied Sciences:

 - Students who obtain 60% or above are allowed to choose any of the applied colleges.

 - Students who obtain 50% or more are allowed to choose any of the applied colleges, except for the College of Engineering and Information Technology.
